Cooking

These are pre-cooked dishes for this week.
This summer the price of summer vegetables were higher than usual because of that strange weather.
And-- while September comes, we see sunshine, and I get cucumbers from here and there.
How do you cook lots of cucumbers?
I fried them with sesame oil and ginger, and add some soy sauce to them to preserve them for a while
When I eat them, it's all right to eat them directly, or fry again with eggs, tomatoes, or anything else.

And I found a can of condensed milk which is almost expired.
So I simmered it with full of  hot water which always covers the whole can, for about 4 hours.

I made fresh caramel cream.
Of course we used them as a jam, but it seems too high calory to get it straight.

So I baked caramel & nuts cake.

Of course we had some for our breakfast, and served the rest of them the day before yesterday when some friends came to my house..

Try adding your caramel to cooked rice for a delicious rice pudding dessert! (If too thick, you can thin it out with milk or cream.) Try cutting up fresh apple slices ( or Japanese pears) and spreading a little of the caramel on each slice...delicious! Jan

Thanks Jan for visiting this site. Yes, this time I learnt caramel is suitable to various things, and I also learnt, it has too much calory. Anyway this cake got a big hit among us.

Thanks for showing the interest in my cooking way. Don't forget to fly with sesame oil and add lots of granted ginger. If you have soy sauce, after being fried them, add some soy sauce to them.
