This "ceremony" is not so familiar in "Kantou" area. Nara is in Kansai which is the west area in Japan
(On the other hand Kantou is east area in Japan)
In Nara Park deer are protected, on the other hand, nowadays here in Tochigi prefecture crop by deer which lives in mountains are reported a lot.

visiting to Nara, deer antler cutting, another fun
in the sunset, a deer standing alone, what is it watching?
