A verb "blue-pencil" is the first word for me.
And I got it, why we have such a pencil.

It is a half red, and a half blue.
Do you have this type?
Only in Japan?
And these days, "red" part is mainly used, so a new type of this pencil is that;"red" part is longer

than "blue" part .
Thanks for your quick response to my comment, Mieko. I haven't seen these double colour pencils and I can't find them on sale in Britain after a quick search on the web. The different lengths of blue and red is a really clever idea.
ReplyDeleteTim, you haven't this type.
ReplyDeleteWell, it might be one of Japanese products. Next time I go abroad, I'll take a box of this pencil as suveniors, instead of SUSHI erasers.
Well, Tim, if you need them, I'll send them to you, please e-mail to me.
Mieko
Thanks, Mieko. I will write you an e-mail.
ReplyDeleteHello Mieko-san :)
ReplyDeleteI have never seen this kind of pencils in any other country that I visited, except in Japan! I still keep two of them as a souvenir!
Do you use them for something specific?
Niamat-san
ReplyDeleteThank you for your coming, yes, I usually check the sheet of studen'ts test with the pencil, putting ome "MARU"s or some "BATSU"s with the red part, and write my comments with the blue part.
Wakarimashita :)
ReplyDeleteI came across your post where you explained about Batsu and Maru :)
The kids should be happy!
In my country, Morocco, teachers usually draw a line under the wrong answer and a check sign under the right answer! So the cleaner the sheet is, THE BETTER!!
Have a great day :)
Is your country Morocco?
ReplyDeleteI don't know anything about Morocco.
Welcome to my homepage.
And, yes, everybody didn't know that about batsu and maru.
So this diary had many comments. I'm glad to get lots of comments.
Do you learn Japanese?
Yes, I am from Morocco:) a lot of people doesn't know much about it :)
ReplyDeleteI knew a few expressions in Japanese because as I said we used to go there in summer. But I've forgotten most of them.
I started learning Hiragana lately, it is a bit difficult, but I am doing my best :)
