SAMGETAN


I don't know what do you call this dish, it is one of famous Korean dish.
A pot food of whole of chicken, did I cook it? Absolutely "no".






It is a retort food, Yuki went to a "special" shop to buy it.
In America and Canada, you celebrate Thanksgiving with "huge" turkeys. This food lead me to a night of Thanksgiving dinner.

Yes, Halloween is officially over, and tomorrow I will also put away the Halloween decorations as well. We, my daughter, my niece, and her friend went trick or treating with much success! We returned home and they each had a full bucket of candy so needless to say my daughter fell asleep admiring her treasure!! She made a most adorable kitty cat and my niece and friend we very cute fairies. Fortunately my cousin stayed and passed out candy at our house as my eldest son was not feeling well. So it was a fun but tiring evening. :)

In Japanese in such ocation (after the big party, or big job ) OTSUKARESAMA, it means "good job", "please relax", "you may be tired," including lots of neuance.
So OTSUKARESAMA!!

The photo of the Korean-style chicken looks like "stewed chicken" which was a dish here primarily used for old birds (that would be tough). Of course, you know there's dozens of ways to use literally all of the meat for several meals...like our Thanksgiving turkey. Here we ofen combine several ingredients into a baked casserole but I don't remember seeing that type of main dish in Japan. YOu have many small dishes of various foods whereas we often combine into one. Jan

Jan, yes it is actaully "stewed chiken", but the inside has a lots of Chinese herbs. So it made us very hot (to YUKI), and warm to me.
