Monday

Main event of this week was staying with our grand daughter  and our daughter.

They assembled flowing Soumen kit. I boiled Soumen noodle, and the others went to buy tempura at nearby supermarket.

Tuesday

Once we assembled the kit, we wanted to use again. So this time we flew chilled Chinese noodles.

On this day, I diligently made "kinshi-tamago" and sautéed eggplants and pork instead of ham.

Wednesday

The day of two of us has returned. So our lunch is one-pan- meal.

The day ended with tidying up and washing. The machine of Nagashi somen machine is  enshrined in the living room.

Thursday

I used the pork vegetable rolls that were in stock. All vegetable stock was gone. So in the afternoon, we went grocery shopping.

Friday

We had to eat fish. So I grilled two fish for us. In the morning I had some calls it made me busy.

In the evening, my husband and I went to the  dentist. A periodontal pocket was found subtly and we got   treatment.

It is a last weekday in July, isn’t it?

Now, Skype for iPad doesn’t work on our iPad.

So , what is a trouble?

We can’t video talking with our grand daughter, easily. 

So it is a really quiet morning. 

Since summer vacation had started, she called every morning.

Anyway Skype for iPad which doesn’t work makes me irritated. Seeing Microsoft question corner, some people have the same trouble. 

Yesterday, I did lot of things as much as I could.  But could not solve it. For a while I leave Skype for iPad untouched.

Quiet usual morning has come back.

The sky is u stable, a few minute ago it was sunny, now it is cloudy. In the morning we are going to do usual activity: tennis, and workout. 

Today two students were going to come. But both of them canceled. One is just sick because of heatstroke, one is ———. I hope she won’t be caught by corona virus. 

Yuki and I will spend days as usual, but we won’t go out for eating  for a while except Karaku cafe .

It is raining. And  we hear thundering, though not so strong. Rhubarb jam,  Japanese plum miso paste, and beets jam, these kinds of my homemade jam are almost finished. 

Luckily this time many people could enjoy them including our grand daughter. 

August is just around the corner. This summer seems to be very tough again.

This time the music is arranged by Yuki.

Monday

On our Japanese calendar, it was  a holiday. So Yuki had no tennis practice, I had no workout at the gym. So we walked around the nearby  small tumulus we hadn't bee there, though we knew the place. On the way home we dropped by a Udon noodle shop..

Tuesday

I forgot taking a photo for lunch.  We got  half price Wagyu beef at a nearby super market. I also sautéed Jew's mallow.

I had a Zoom meeting of my volunteer group Unfortunately our activity is postponed again because of the seventh corona pandemic. What will happen?

Wednesday

The main is Zucchini's sauté. And the side dish is a bite  of cutlet we bought at a supermarket.

My husband went playing golf all the day. I went to the gym in the morning, and  in the  afternoon  I was practicing the piano harder than usual.

Thursday

The first GOYA (bitter gourd) I came from the next door. I didn't have tofu, so I fried it with pork and tasted them sweet and spicy.

In the afternoon, I got some phones in a row. I felt like I was fluttering and using it with my head.

Friday

We ate half of set of Tuna sashimi yesterday, so for the lunch, I made  a tororo ( a kind of yam) & tuna bowl. We thought we were accustomed to the heat because of the sudden heat last time, but  we felt very  dull, because of the  the excessive humidity.

We subscribe a newspaper. And I like reading an article "JINSEI ANNAI", which　means  advice column, probably. The newspaper we read every day is "Yomiuri" news paper. In English version of the paper, it is  "troubleshooter".

Well, though Yuki and I don't have such shoes to polish --- we have shoes to wipe oh, sorry I should stop nitpicking, anyway nowadays the number of people who has covid19 anxiety seems to be increasing, including me. It is a good opportunity to revise our surroundings. However for me I sometimes feel my world got too small, though there is two member in  this house, there is a small garden, and we have nice neighbors. Anyway to enjoy small things and increase moments to feel happy is very important, isn't it.

Yesterday,  coincidentally a friend came. So I made sandwiches using my beet jam, carrot cam, and Japanese plum paste. She seemed to enjoy them. 

As I “declared” I also went to the gym.  But because of the note was I could do walking exercise in the evening. 

Today, I will go to the gym. And probably today a new music score book well be delivered ..I bought it for next Karaku performance. 

Well, since i had no English class, the opportunity I use or study English has lesson. But these days I found it is fun to introduce an short essay or report in my English. “ my English” means of course poor English but, added my interpretation that might be different from author’s will.

It is sunny, it seems to be hot. Yuki has already left to play golf.

Today’s my schedule is —— anyway going to the gym in the morning. 

In the afternoon, preparing for next Karaku performance . My friend has already sent me the reading contents. I have to think what tunes suit to them.  Probably I will be out of it. And I have one piano lesson. 

If it is not so hot, I know I should do walking exercise in the evening. 

After dinner—— we will spend lazily. Yuki is used to the situation  that watching TV while dozing .

I am not used to the situation yet. For more than 20 years, I worked at night.  Yuki was the same. What is the difference? Drinking or not? Or these days I do yoga as much as I can.

It is cloudy, Yuki is going to go fishing, it is later for him than usual to leave. Because the western is unstable.

Today 11:00 am I hold a zoom meeting . It is our picture book club meeting. We will read Tanabata story.

Monday has started. It is a holiday. So Yuki has no tennis practice I have no gym workout. We might go out nearby, checking nearby fishing site, or nearby ancient thumb park to do walking exercise. But today fortunately or unfortunately it is sunny, and it seems to be hot. We might spend at home lazily.

Monday

One-pan-dish. It was stir-fried meat, but I added lots of eggplants and parsley in my garden. The green of the parsley looks delicious, doesn't it?

On his way back from fishing in the morning, Yuki bought a steamed dumpling  known to the locals. So I visited two friends to share them.

Tuesday

I made Japanese plum miso paste. It tastes like sweet HACYO MISO. It's pretty good.

I was relieved that the afternoon I could perform well as usual at Karaku. These days the number of corona virus patients is increasing.  What will happen to us?

Wednesday

It was a pork bowl. Inside, there were plenty of boiled bean sprouts and lettuce under the pork.

It was the afternoon when the haiku corrections came back and I was revising them. Yuki was practicing the guitar.

Thursday

I got some fresh corn that we can eat raw at this time from my friend. Its kernel was really white, wasn't it?

I also got beets, so in the afternoon I was making beet jam. I will not waste what I received. I don't bother to buy them.

Friday

From the morning, I studied hard at a haiku meeting. So  I was tired, and Yuki and I went to the beef bowl shop for our lunch. It was raining.

After the rain, I had a phone call with my mother then I went to a clinic to take my monthly medicine.. It was a busy day.

Yesterday, one of my friend came with red beers she made.

So I started making beets jam, not soup. Today  we had it with toast. Yuki said, “not so bad, as you said it is vegetable jam.

Yesterday we went to a brand bakery. This morning, it is their bread for our breakfast.

I celebrate Mother's day with Tsuna sushi roll. but she couldn't understand the day is Mother's day because of her dementia. But I didn't make her confirmed. Just we enjoyed sushi roll.

My question is

Ho do we describe "Koinobori"?

This time I used "children's Day" instead of "Koinbori". Koinobori might express "May carp streamers". it is a seasonal scenery to line up the streamers from big one to small one. The scenery overlapped with the scene that I sent off my daughter and my grand daughter at station.

In English Haiku world, a seasonal word might not be needed. but I want to express my emotion with Japanese culture.

 

Answer, Koinobori can express Festive carp streamers, Flying carp streamers, or Colored carp streamers.

That was a good idea to use Children's Day as a seasonal reference that is understood easily by your foreign readers. But it is also possible to help your readrs to learn more about Japanese culture. In this way your foreign readers will enjoy haiku even more.

It is rainy. It likes kind of rain in rainy season, not in summer season. 

In the afternoon we are going to a art gallery, if it doesn’t rain heavily.

Finally Japanese plum miso paste is matured. So I shared some with my neighbor and friends. It means I visited three friends house yesterday.

Yesterday the election was over. We went vote in the morning.

Monday has started. Luckily it is not so hot compared two weeks ago, though it is still humid. This week for me it is Haiku week. I revise my haikus to submit to Internet haiku club, face-to-face haiku meeting, haiku correspondence course, and a magazine.

Having such places to submit my haiku keeps my motivation to make haiku, of course making youtube is too.

Monday

We had some errands downtown. So we left home around 9 o'clock. We went to the post office, city banks, library  and so on.

Than we expected all things was finished earlier. So we made it on 800 yen hotel lunch time. It was a steak lunch on Monday in July. Lucky us!

Tuesday

The whole cabbage remained. The easiest way to cook it is "yakisoba". Sorry Mr. Cabbage. It was too simple.

In the afternoon I went to the library. Finally a book I had booked in this winter arrived at me. I was into reading it the rest of the day.

Wednesday

This time, lettuce  remained. I fried it with squid. It's really just a single dish  every day.

Besides, it was a comfortable afternoon because the course of the typhoon was off. we enjoyed holding a strip of paper to celebrate Star Festival.

Thursday

"Oyakodon" with the remaining cabbage? What kind of menu was it? It was like sautéed cabbage and eggs.

In the afternoon, I visited a neighbor. And coincidently I helped her discarding 10 things. I might have been meddling.

Friday

It was fried rice " Chahan" . I used up the rest of green peppers. 

In the evening, it was rare for two of us to do walking exercise together.

Today , I will go to the gym.

And if I go there, it will be four days in a row to go there. It will be the first time for me.

Yesterday,  I visited a neighbor with the sweets. She is a widow and around 80. Though I had no plan to do “ it” —— I helped her discarding 10 things while organizing her medicine bags.

It might have been meddling. But anyway we did  it with laughing.

Today it is the day of star festival. I don’t have any special plan. When I had a class, I made bamboo craft. We might buy special Japanese sweets for today. 

Yesterday, no one came while the signboard was in front of the entrance. But I got a call from one of my friend. She said talking on the phone is easier than going there. So we had  along talk on the phone. 

Today I it is cooler than yesterday. 

I feel tiredness, probably because of unexpected hot days, so I will spend today at home lazily.

The typhoon deviated. So it is sunny though it is also windy.

Yuki’s tennis was canceled yesterday, so today he is going to go playing tennis as usual.

According to the weather report, for a while unstable weather will continue. It is cloudy now, probably it will rain. So Yuki’s golf of tomorrow is canceled. We were afraid of water shortage, it may avoid it. However we are afraid of water flood. 

Anyway it gets cooled, I feel my body light. 

Yesterday I got an email from the nearby library. Finally it is my turn to read a book I booked in winter. As soon as the library open I am going to borrow it, and go to the gym before starting raining.

Now I am think No how I make my daily life in the afternoon fulfilling. Now I am not tied by my mother’s video calling, though it is not so good for me. But it may be time to leave my role. Having said that I stay home in the afternoon if I don’t have special errands like Karaku performance.

Monday has started. Luckily today it got cooler than last week.

Today We are going to go out downtown to do errands. A half of year is finished.  Fortunately we didn’t have any big trouble. Last summer , though it was not a trouble, we were really surprised by sudden return to Japan of my daughter and grand daughter.  This summer it seems to be noisy as usual because of two of them.

Since the trouble between my brother and me occurred, almost one year has passed. It isn’t solved yet, but my mother’s condition is stable. It is the most important thing.

Monday

Suddenly it got very hot. This heat made me feel a little sick. Anyway we went to a sushi roll restaurant for our lunch.

In the afternoon, I was sloppy at home. Yuki works on his PC while watching TV as usual.

Tuesday

In the morning,  Yuki went to play tennis, and I went to the gym. Though we have no reason, I grilled SHIMAHOKKE fish for  our  lunch.

It was hot to grill fish. But it was delicious.

Wednesday

Yuki played golf all day long. It was amazing. My lunch is a beef bowl with fresh cabbage.

Since it was the 29th, it was a meat cup competition. 2 pronounces "ni", 9 pronounces "ku", and meat pronounces "ni-ku". So Yuki received a hamburger steak at the participation prize. 

That was our dinner. Unfortunately he had no other prizes.

Thursday

It was hot, but we felt wind  blowing  than expected. I cooked fried noodle with plenty of cabbage for lunch.

It's been a while since I did walking exercise in the evening. I did not reach 5000 steps.

Friday

In the morning, I joined a Haiku meeting. It was a frozen mackerel cooked Miso paste.
