I'm a Japanese housewife living in Japan. I'm in my 60's. I want to know daily lives in the world, so at first I'll tell my daily. What is your daily life?
It is the last day of February, isn’t it? The news apparently have changed compared the last Monday.
However the measure against corona viruses is , of course continued. Pollen season has come. And my skin gets more dry.
So last ‘night’ I made an effort to go to a nearby drug store to get face gel against my face wrinkle , and sunscreen.
Well, it is the day to close my monthly household accounts. This month we used moment than we expected. What we say “ it can’t be helped”. Fuel costs got higher, it is colder than usual. Our vacuum cleaner suddenly didn’t work. I bought a pair of new glasses, and other facial goods.
After our breakfast, I set the timer of the rice. It was a right decision. We had hot cooked rice with RUIBE , which is a famous local food in Hokaido. We bought it at the Hokkaido exhibition in a department store.
Tuesday
The remaining snow in the mountains we can see so far, is beautiful. we want to go skiing . No, we can't , because our knees can't bear. We both have given up, but we want my granddaughter to experience it.
Wednesday
The next day was our daughter's birthday, but it seemed to be a good excuse for our granddaughter. She asked us to send some sweet. So unexpectedly we went to a high-class sweet shop. It was all right, actually I had wanted to send some thing to my friend
Thursday
I cooked turnips while we were having breakfast. The main dish of our lunch is frozen fried gyoza. We tried it for the first time, but it was pretty good. I continue walking exercise. Well, this day finally I was able to talk with my mother .
(Our elder daughter had had been sick, fortunately hadn't caught by corvid virus, and she recovered so she visited my mother.)
Friday
I cooked Yakitori bowl. We are planning to go to the green onion field to buy another bag of them. so I put them all in. Rather, it may be called a green onion bowl.
Now, our washing machine is working. As soon as we get up we put our sheets, blankets, and pillow covers into it. When it finishes washing we are going to take the laundry to coin laundry nearby by car to dry.
Why?
Finally pollen season has come. I have already taken medicine, but I cannot hang out “my” bed items. (My clothes are all right). It takes 5 minutes on foot, but the wet laundry is heavy, so I take them there by car. Probably they will be dried in 20 minutes. Yuki will take them back, and will go playing tennis. It is his weekend morning task for a while.
Hot sandwiches again. Yesterday I fried beef and asparagus. The rest is inside of the hot sandwiches.
According to the weather report this cold weather will be end on this weekend. And spring weather will come with pollen.
Any what I should do is to keep exercise. To tell the truth it is a little bit difficult to enjoy it, but anyway I try to keep it, because I want to keep in a good shape including comfortable dozing.
It is sunny, and a holiday. I attend a brief meeting in the morning, and in i he evening I have lessons, so for me I am busier than usual Wednesday’s.
Yesterday I wore my casual kimono at home i the afternoon. I showed me to a fried via Skype, and got some advices, because she is an expert of traditional Japanese dance.
Probably I won’t go out in such casual kimono, but I cannot discard them yet. Anyway I try to put them all in turn.
In the morning, I go to a clinic and get regular medicine, then we are going to a department where a special fair, Hokkaido food fair, is held. I really want a special local sweet.
It was Valentine's Day. We got lots of chocolate to exchange with our friends. So I didn't need to present special one. In stead of it, I accepted his offer to have "Yokohama Ramen", which is famous with really thick and oily soup.
Tuesday
The weather is so-so, it is cold. My husband got a haircut. He got really short hair. It looks wonderful and really cleanliness.
Wednesday
I forgot to report that I got a sheet of stamps stamp sheet to win the New Year's lottery post cards. I also had my hair cut at my friend's beauty salon today.
Thursday
In my regular medical examination, arteriosclerosis is also high, but I haven't been prescribed any medicine. Lucky me. So to celebrate and inspire me to keep walking exercise, we had Tonakatsu feast. Is it all right to eat oily pork cutlet?
Friday
Simple sukiyaki bowl .I prepared it for lunch, but Yuki didn't come back on time because of "overtime tennis". The weather seems to be bad on this weekend, so we went to the library to borrow many books beforehand in the afternoon.
It is “still” cloudy, doesn’t start snowing. In the morning probably I will do walking exercise.
We read the news “ prices of most of foods are getting higher”, but we hadn’t felt it directly until yesterday. Yesterday on the way home from the library we dropped by a bakery. Apparently the cost of all bread got 10%higher, though we bought some.
In a row it is also clinic’s day today, to the dentist.,
According to the weather report this weekend it seems to snow, so after lunch at home, we will go to the library to return books and borrow new ones.
My friend, who and I are around the same age, stopped cursing of her cancer. So far she is fine, but we know she apparently has started counting her living days.
Now I returned home from the hospital. Fortunately I avoided taking medicine constantly. The cholesterol and " arteriosclerosis" don't progress, though the score keeps high in a bad meaning.
Anyway skipping breakfast I went to the hospital. After I got blood check, I had breakfast alone at the hospital calmly.
Then I had a ultrasonography eco, and saw the doctor.
Today’s breakfast it the rest of yesterday’s “homemade” pizza.
In the morning I will walk to my friend’s house to get a haircut.
Yesterday I hold a zoom meeting with my volunteer group members, though only three including me. Unfortunately our volunteer activity won’t start in April.
I need something to inspire me.
Tuesday, February 15, 2022
Yesterday, I had made “ progressive additional lenses” at a glasses shop. It will be sent in a week. Now, I have five glasses, usual grasses for driving, bifocals for my usual days, grasses with progressive power lenses for near version for lessons, or reading music scores, and grasses with progressive additional lens for my personal computer, and a kind of reading grasses. Yuki has four ones, usual two pairs for driving, and for playing golf to watch small balls, grasses with progressive power lenses for near version to watch TV, and a kind of reading glasses.
We went out to a shrine a little far away and had lunch at "Katsuya" on our way home. It cost 1200yen for two of us, very reasonable price, wasn't it? I walked home from there to digest my lunch.
Tuesday
I stirred turnip and beef. It was the day of my performance at Karaku cafe. Though we are still in the pandemic, thankfully I can continue the performance once a month.
Wednesday
It's been 10 years since I started going to the gym. The 60th birthday has passed. Next is Kouki, in my 70's, if I keep it on.
Thursday
It really snowed. This was the first time in this winter. But fortunately it didn't pile up. Well. For the first time, I post my HAIKU to a meeting online.
Friday
It was a holiday. Many people were walking. There was still snow on the soil, so some kids were playing with snow.
Today, it is a holiday. For me it is a usual day, two students come in turn. For Yuki, unfortunately he doesn’t have any plans to play tennis, if he had one, it would be impossible because of yesterday’s snow. He has already borrowed lots of jazz music magazines at the library, so he is going to be absorbed into them.
We drove out a little bit far, on the way home we dropped by KARAKU having lunch. There we read magazines well.
Tuesday
I did 6000 steps walking exercise, and very tired. In front of me, a postman climbed the stairs and deliver posts lightly, quickly, easily.
Wednesday
In the afternoon, we went to the mall of the station. There are many rich stores, so we went there a little bit in "going-out" clothes. Well no one noticed because we wore our winter coat and of course knew our home clothes.
Thursday
Since it's setsubun (brining luck to home), so instead of EHOUMAKI ( eat it look at a direction), I cooked something like one. Usually we have it for dinner, but in the evening we had to go out. So we ate it ignoring the right cardinal directions.
Friday
This week, I did 5,000 step walking every day. I'll do my best for the blood test in about two weeks.
It’s Saturday. Unfortunately the private tennis coat Yuki ‘s group uses is closed.
So, this weekend our mission is walking together, and prepare for “final tax return “. “Final tax return” is “kaktri shinnkoku” in Japanese. It is kind of ‘a must’. When Yuki was a businessman, it was managed by his office automatically. At that time we got some “return”, but now we don’t.
Yesterday we went out to a little bit high-class supermarket.
And these donuts we’re left. Who had which one?
Today it is “setsubun”. At some shrines setsubun event is held. Both of us just eat setsubun beans as many as one tenth of , though usually, we, especially kids eat them as many as our age.
This morning the windows of the bathroom didn’t freeze, so it is not colder today than yesterday.
Recently I knew, printable chocolate trans sheets are sold at 100 yen shop. Shall I try to use some? Anyway I have to walk a 100 shop. I hope at the nearest 100 yen shop they deal with them.
My husband Yuki and I live in a regional city. Our retirement life has state since 2020. Though Something good, exciting, worried or bad often happens, we try to focus the current situation and spend enjoyable days while living offf our savings little by little carefully.
