dry! dry! dry!

I steamed sweet potatoes, and sliced them ( I couldn't slice them thinly)

Then I dried them. I also dried sliced fresh Japanese radish.

Done!

I took them to my mother, She was very surprised and glad to get them.
Now julienned (shredded) carrots are being dried.

The leaves are loquat leaves in my garden.
To save money and to spend healthy natural live, I've started using the leaves.

We toast? grill dried sweet potatoes for a few minutes.
(the most easy way is just to hit them up in a microwave oven)
We put dried DAIKON into miso soup directly, or reactivate them with water and use for salad, or something directly.

If you have lots of turnips, try to dry them. And use them like dried DAIKON.

Believe it or not, we can buy daikon here in our main grocery store. Truthfully, I have never seen anyone buy it ...perhaps some Asian customers.
I remember visiting the Japanese daikon Capital....Kagoshima! There was a large statue of a daikon in a park. Jan

Really? I hope they are not so bitter, some daikon is very bitter. If you are interested in cooking daikon in the western way, I recommend to stake daikon. Cut the Dicon and boil them with a little bit salt. Then you stake them , I also recommend to eat them with soy sauce.
Or just shred or slice them thinly, and eat them as salad.
